Modern Slavery Policy
1. Commitment
The IMEX Group has zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking in any form and is committed to combating these practices. We do not tolerate the exploitation of any individual in any part of our business, including our supply chain.
2. Our business
The IMEX Group includes Regent Exhibitions Limited and IMEX America Limited, both incorporated in England and Wales.
We bring the global meetings industry together through two annual shows—one in Frankfurt and one in Las Vegas.
3. Our people
We employ around 80 people, all based and employed in the UK.
Given the nature of our work and workforce, the risk of human trafficking and modern slavery in our direct operations is low.
4. Our supply chains
Our supply chain is diverse and includes hotel and travel services, exhibition venues, marketing and PR, technology products, catering, utilities, facilities management, professional services and other event production and year-round business services.
The majority of our suppliers are based in the UK, Germany and the US.
5. Our policies on modern slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our supply chains or in any part of our business.
Our Culture Guidebook and our Inclusion and Diversity Policy set out our commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in all business relationships.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets out the standards we expect from our suppliers to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not present in any part of our supply chain.
6. Due diligence—our business
We are committed to ethical and socially responsible conduct in the workplace. We comply with all UK employment legislation, including conducting appropriate right-to-work checks before employment, to ensure all team members are entitled to work in the UK.
We actively participate in the Fight Against Human Trafficking Industry Collaborative, which enables us to share best practices, access resources, and contribute to industry-wide initiatives aimed at eradicating modern slavery.
All our employees are based in the UK, where we are a Brighton Living Wage employer. The Living Wage is determined by the average cost of living, rather than the national minimum wage.
We are currently rolling out a modern slavery awareness training program to all employees, to raise awareness of global slavery and equip our team with the knowledge to respond to any suspected incidents.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct has been shared with team members who manage suppliers, and they are required to familiarize themselves with it.
7. Due diligence—our supply chain
We are implementing a new supplier due diligence process to ensure we can:
- Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains
- Reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking
- Protect whistle blowers
8. Supply chain compliance
To ensure our supply chain aligns with our values, we are implementing the following compliance checks:
Supplier Code of Conduct
We have introduced our Supplier Code of Conduct which prohibits the use of forced, compulsory, bonded or indentured labor, involuntary prison labor, slavery, servitude; human trafficking; and child labor.
Supplier certification, procurement and contracts
We require all suppliers to certify compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct or provide a copy of an equivalent standard.
As part of our procurement process, we consider each supplier’s adherence to our Supplier Code of Conduct when awarding or renewing contracts.
Contracts will be terminated as soon as possible in the event of a breach of the Code, or failure or refusal to certify compliance.
9. Measuring our effectiveness
We use the following key performance indicators to measure our effectiveness in preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business or supply chains:
- Records to confirm all team members have the right to work in the UK
- Records that team members have received appropriate training
- Records to confirm suppliers have certified compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct
We are committed to regularly reviewing modern slavery risks and taking practical steps to reduce them, ensuring that robust processes are in place to support appropriate action.
10. Future progress
- We will continue to review and update our supply chain mapping process and coordinate further actions to reduce the risk of slavery
- Suppliers identified as higher risk will be asked to take part in a more detailed audit to assess compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct
11. Reporting
To contact us about this policy or to report any concerns, email [email protected]. All reports will be investigated and treated in the strictest confidence.
